Rabbits

Well in the summer month's we carry out some rabbit control for our farmers just to keep them happy. Well we got the call last week from one of our farmers that the rabbit's are eating more grass than his sheep and was looking for me to try and get the numbers down. I told my farmer i would try and get up sometime over the next week or so.

Well i made a couple of call's to my mate how have the right tool for the trade which is the .22 rifle. I asked him if he would be free sometime this week yes no problem never knock's back the chance of a good day out with the rifle. So we arranged to meet up and visit the farm on sunday and make a day out it and what a day it was.

So we meet up at my place then the hour drive to the farm we pulled up at the farm at 6 in the morning. The plan was to sit and wait on the rabbit's coming out and it worked a treat we had 37 rabbit's in the morning. We nipped over to talk and have lunch with the farmer and tell him how all was going. We told him we had 37 in the bag his smile said it all so we had lunch then it was over to the other side of the farm and try our luck there.

It took us a good 5 min walk to get there and we had 3 rabbit's in the bag before we had even sat in our stalking postion so anyway we got to our postion and ready. 2 min the 1st one appers and my mate added another to the bag it was not long before we started to see them all coming up and out to play and after another couple of hours we had 29 rabbit's in the game bag so we called it a day.

So all in all a great day at bashing the bunnys with 69 in the bag as the end total it was a decent day and the farmer was more than happy. It's always good to keep showing your face around your farms in the summer month's just so the farmer can see your still keeping on top of the vermin.
